Psychological therapy can help to make sense of past and current experiences, identify and address unhelpful patterns of behaviours, build strategies to manage painful emotions, and find meaning and hope for the future.
When we are trudging through the thick of our problems, situations and traumas, we can lose confidence in our ability to find a way out. If left unattended, it can negatively affect how we feel about ourselves and our future. We can lose hope.
At Hope Psychology, we believe that hope is something that can be cultivated and our role as psychologists is to support individuals to do just that. Therapy can help to make sense of past and current experiences, identify and address unhelpful patterns of behaviours, build strategies to manage painful emotions, and find meaning and hope for the future.

Hope Psychology Core Values
Authenticity.
When therapists and clients bring their whole and authentic selves (the good, bad and messy) into the therapeutic space, it allows for honest and whole-hearted conversations. Therefore we aspire to bring transparency and vulnerability into our work as therapists, and strive to create a safe and non-judgemental space for others to do the same.
Collaboration.
A therapeutic relationship is built out of the shared willingness, openness and effort of the client and therapist. In order for meaningful therapeutic progress to occur, both parties must be willing to contribute to the work and offer their own expertise, experiences and commitment.
Play.
Therapy sessions don’t always need to be serious and heavy (although it’s also okay if they are!). We view humour and light-heartedness as important therapeutic tools and believe that therapy sessions can be enjoyed!
