Our Approach
Therapy is not a “one-size fits all” process and the therapeutic modality should be tailored to the needs and preferences of the individual and not the other way around.
In saying this, we believe it is important to have an evidence-based framework that underpins our work to ensure best practice and targeted treatment. Monica adopts a schema-based approach and draws on the following evidence-based therapeutic interventions:
- schema therapy
- acceptance commitment therapy
- dialectical behaviour therapy
- cognitive-behavioural therapy
- mindfulness-based strategies
- motivational interviewing

Clinical Reflective Supervision
Reflective supervision is a specialised form of professional supervision that focuses on fostering a deeper understanding of one's work, emotions, and their impact on practice. Unlike traditional supervision that might primarily focus on performance or competence, reflective supervision emphasises introspection, self-awareness, and continuous learning.
Monica is an AHPRA board approved supervisor (clinical). Supervision services are available for general psychologists and psychologists undertaking the registrar program for clinical psychology.
